Sales Representative

With a worldwide base of industrial, military & defense, and remote-sensing customers, Headwall Photonics is building the market for spectral imaging products. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue across a number of key markets and application areas for Headwall’s hyperspectral and Raman imaging products.

Job Description

As an experienced sales rep, job responsibility is to consistently increase revenue by creating a sales pipeline that includes responding to inbound inquiries and uncovering new opportunities for our exciting technology. The most critical skills for this role include a demonstrated ability to qualify new sales opportunities, the ability to close business, and overall support of and for the sales team.

Sales activities include the generation of targeted campaigns to an established base of customers, outbound activities to key prospects, cultivating new opportunities within established accounts, and supporting reseller and integrator partners.  Support for customer proposal development and other related sales activities are important aspects of being part of the sales team.

Creation and maintenance of the sales business plan, prospect database for lead tracking, and pipeline development and forecasting is required.

The person must be self-motivated, organized, accountable, and enjoy working in the fast-paced environment of a venture-funded company.

The company will provide product and application training as required.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Previous sales experience as an inside or outside sales rep

  • Familiarity with sensors, laboratory products, process line equipment, or spectroscopy instruments

  • Polished telephone and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proposal development and professional writing skills

  • Familiarity with federal government purchasing procedures is desirable

  • Comfortable interacting with technologists, researchers, and purchasing executives

  • Familiarity with customer databases such as Salesforce.com

  • A team player with a positive attitude

Education and Background

  • BS in chemistry, biology, physics or a related optics field

  • Position requires either U. S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status

  • Government clearance a plus
