Senior Engineering Manager

Headwall currently seeks a highly motivated Senior Engineering Manager to enhance our management team and contribute to and drive the company's product innovation and success.

Job Description

The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for development & delivery of key, strategic projects and the management of the core project team including technology partners and contractors.

As a rapidly growing company, Headwall undertakes critical development projects that shape the technology industry and advance the use and implementation of spectral instrumentation in both industrial and military/defense markets.

This management position includes participation in the strategic planning process of the company and drives the engineering activities associated with project teams and individual contributors. The individual needs to have an experienced, hands-on approach to managing an engineering team comprised of optical scientists, principal engineers, application engineers, design engineers, and external resources. The primary goal is to provide functional management of critical engineering resources and to provide functional interface to Production & Manufacturing.

Headwall's key product/technology areas are spectral imaging (both hyperspectral and Raman), single and dual beam spectrometers, and diffraction gratings. Executive customer interaction and industry engagement is a critical success factor. The Senior Engineering Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Education

The ideal candidate will have a MS degree in Engineering or advanced degree with emphasis in optics or electro-optics and a minimum of 10 years engineering experience. Well-rounded knowledge of the design of analytical equipment, detector technology, opto-mechanics, and electronics is important.

Managerial Experience

Must be an experienced team builder with proven customer skills that includes a minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in managing engineering personnel and technical projects. Team player and self-motivated are attributes of success.
