    Original Holographic Diffraction Gratings
    Headwall Photonics, Inc. has the history and leadership as a OEM supplier of original holographic diffraction gratings for multiple applications. Our gratings include planar, aberration-corrected concave/convex, and Rowland Circle designs. Our markets include telecommunications, spectroscopy, colorimetry, biomedical, and other analytical applications.
     
    Headwall Photonics, Inc. has proven that the highest performance diffraction gratings cannot be manufactured with "replication" techniques, so we have continuously refined our process to deliver only "original" gratings, making us the only company in the world that can make this statement.
     
    The original grating manufacturing technique can accurately create the groove profiles necessary for high efficiency and low PDL. Other grating manufacturing techniques that involve replication cannot reproducibly create the subtle groove profiles required for high performance. The result of our original technology is efficiencies in excess of 90% on our High Efficiency / Low Loss designs and PDL as low as a few tenths of a dB on our LPDL designs.
     
    The holographic original technique permits the recording of gratings on concave and convex surfaces. We pioneered the development of aberration-corrected concave gratings and continue to refine our designs to deliver the highest performance. We believe this technology will enable the future evolution of designs that are simpler and less expensive, without compromising performance.
