Technology Product Manager - Medical & Biotech

Job Description

Headwall is the leading provider of high performance spectral instrumentation for commercial and government sectors. Headwall designs and manufactures sensor solutions for critical applications in the remote sensing and advanced machine vision markets and is driving strategic technology developments in the medical & biotech sector.

With projects currently in house, Headwall is working with key medical organizations to revolutionize disease detection and subsequent treatment. We are looking for an experienced executive to exploit our success and spectral imaging technology capabilities in areas such as surgical cancer treatment and early diagnosis and onset of degenerative diseases.

For focus and continued investment in the medical/biotech market, Headwall is looking to add a key technology management executive to our marketing and sales team who has in-depth technology knowledge of medical instrumentation development and sales & distribution. With global responsibilities, this is a high profile position with a fast growing company that engages flagship medical customers and institutions to create innovative spectral solutions for a very large addressable market.


  • Managing the entire product/technology life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities for Headwall’s medical instrumentation solutions.

  • Establishing technology roadmaps by specifying market requirements for current & future products and conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and key industry partners.

  • Driving a solution set across development teams from engineering through product positioning and competitive assessment to the sales team.

  • Designing & implementing a cross-functional, comprehensive “go-to-market” technology plan.

  • Analyzing and forming partner relationships for compelling technology and product solutions.

Required Skills:

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • BS or higher in a science or engineering; knowledge of spectroscopy or spectral instrumentation is important.

  • 10 years or more of progressive marketing or product management leadership experience with scientific instruments or imaging sensors.

  • Experience working with physicians and regulatory entities.

  • Experience working with key executive customer prospects, OEM accounts, solution partners, and industry analysts.

  • Extensive medical & biotech market knowledge and experience with hardware/software medical instrumentation (including imaging technologies) with a focus on application data processing.
