Headwall Upgrades Facility Lighting for Energy Savings and Quality

Headwall has upgraded our workplace lighting with LED panels throughout the Bolton facility. In addition to better quality light, there are gains in energy efficiency. Numerous studies show that higher quality light can be a positive influence on productivity and feelings of well-being.

Headwall has upgraded our workplace lighting with LED panels, replacing fluorescent fixtures throughout our Bolton facility.

“These new panels provide brighter and more even lighting,” said Dennis Lowell, Director of Operations. “In addition to a better quality of light, they are much more energy efficient. In fact, we anticipate a payback for the upgrade within six months!”

Studies by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and industry organizations show that a higher quality of light can be a positive influence on productivity and feelings of well-being. More uniform illumination and the ability to select the color temperature were high priorities for Headwall. The upgrades were performed during normal business hours with minimal disruptions to the team.

The project consisted of 213 fluorescent lights and 26 incandescent that were upgraded to LED lighting. This will provide an annual greenhouse gas (CO2) reduction of 59,593 pounds per year, and reduces our energy use by 54,175kWh per year as well.

In the future, Headwall will integrate enhanced lighting controls, such as installing more occupancy sensors and dimmers throughout the facility, to provide additional energy and cost savings.
