  • Product Manager – Machine Vision

    Headwall builds spectral solutions that address important problems across key markets. You will play a hands-on role in defining the vision, prioritizing features, and managing the product roadmaps for solutions. This role will also work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, manufacturing and customers to challenge the boundaries of what’s possible and build product roadmaps, finding new opportunities for growth.   • Program Manager

    The Program Manager will organize and lead the execution of complex New Product Development programs within the Headwall R&D team, which is advancing the field of hyperspectral imaging by providing components, software, systems, and fully integrated solutions to our customers in the machine vision, remote sensing, and OEM business segments. The Program Manager will lead teams to complete projects that span across one or more functional groups in a matrix fashion. They will manage resources, schedules, and documentation and adhere to stage gate quality and control guidelines throughout the full project life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

    The Program Manager will manage a variety of projects including new product development, projects to enhance existing product offerings, new software development, research projects, and contracted customer projects. They will manage all project resources which includes both internal staff and external consulting partners. The candidate must have a proven ability to understand complex problems and requirements as described by customers, product line managers, and scientific and engineering staff. Due to export restrictions, the candidate must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.

    • Manage complex projects to develop new hyperspectral imaging systems and related products that span one or multiple functional groups with asynchronous timelines.

  • Software Engineer

    Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Software Engineer will have responsibilities in new product development and sustaining of existing products. The candidate will be responsible for the specification, design, development, and documentation of code. Our codebase is written in C++, and an eligible candidate should be proficient in this language. Knowledge of other machine vision toolkits and libraries (such as OpenCV) is a plus. Additionally, the candidate may be called upon to use their capabilities to support automated build process and testing. The candidate must be a fast learner, strong problem solver, and exceptional communicator. They must have a proven ability to understand complex problems and requirements as described by customers, product managers, and scientific and engineering staff.   • Gratings Optical Quality/Test Technician

    Headwall is looking for a motivated individual to join our Gratings production team at our Fitchburg, Massachusetts, facility. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring quality of our optical components, which includes incoming inspection of our optical substrates and final testing of our gratings.

    Responsibilities:

    • Testing of product with Zygo interferometers, roughness tools, and other laser based testing tools
    • Inspect for scratch/dig criteria and other surface quality specifications using microscope
    • Support glass handling, cleaning, and inspection operations
    • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
    • Develop and maintain inspection reports
    • Collate data and report on trends and anomalies
    • Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications
    • Perform inspections across all stages of production
    • Identify areas for quality and process improvement
    • Provide support to the coating lab: clean room housekeeping, data collection 
    • Completes work order documentation describing jobs performed and enters time spent for each job promptly

  • Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer

    Headwall Photonics is a leading designer and manufacturer of complete spectral instrumentation solutions for remote sensing, advanced machine vision, and government/defense markets. With a worldwide base of end-user and OEM customers, Headwall enjoys a market leadership position through the design and manufacture of spectral solutions that are customized for application-specific performance. The Company is headquartered in the US, and has three European locations in Belgium, Germany, and Italy. European headquarters operations at Headwall BVBA are located near Brussels, Belgium.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer will perform mechanical design and analysis for terrestrial, airborne, and space-based hyperspectral imaging (HSI) systems, tooling, and test equipment. These efforts will include leading the design of complex opto-mechanical systems, designing hardware that satisfies system requirements, providing full design documentation, and detailing parts and assembly drawings to support the development, manufacture, and test of HSI systems. The role will also support new business opportunities and mentor, lead and develop junior engineers, designers, and technicians.     Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design and engineering of state-of-the-art HSI products, subassemblies, and production equipment through all phases of development and manufacturing.
    • Create part and assembly models, detailed drawings, and associated parts lists, in accordance with AMSE Y14.5 and Headwall drawing standards.
    • Analyze and present modeling and test data.  Review results with technical staff, external partners, and customers. 
    • Provide domain leadership to project teams in the preparation of requirements, cost estimates and schedules.
    • Prepare for, and participate in, comprehensive reviews of one’s own work product as well as that of peers.
    • Evaluate product performance at the component and system levels via both computer modeling and hands-on experimental methods.

    • Knowledge of various adhesive applications and bonding techniques in opto-mechanical designs.
    • High proficiency in using SOLIDWORKS for mechanical design and documentation.
    • Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA) method for stress analysis, modal analysis, and heat transfer analysis.
    • Competency with GD&T to achieve high precision results in the design process.

  • Sales Operations Administrator

    The Sales Operations Administrator position is a key role interfacing between Sales & Operations to ensure that sales orders are placed, scheduled, and documented. Due to export restrictions, the candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate superior customer service skills, embodying necessary customer-related attributes of responsiveness, and knowledgeable support
    • Coordinate order administration function to ensure accurate entering, scheduling, and order administration of customer sales data into Headwall’s CRM and ERP
    • Generate and manage 8-week production demand schedule.
    • Issue Sales Acknowledgements for valid customer orders
    • Generate invoices, track billing processes, and coordinates with accounting team
    • Estimates OEM renewal contract dates based on consumption rates and advises OEM Account Managers
    • Track customer orders through the entire sales cycle, through the delivery of final goods to the customer
    • Ensures that all requirements are met and tracked in order to allow a sales order to ship out the door; i.e., Licenses, End User Statements, Export Docs, Credit Card Payments, Letter of Credits, Wire transfers
    • Coordinate and track all logistics of orders for coordination and timely delivery of goods with Headwall Shipping & Receiving team
    • Administrate the export compliance process according to Headwall’s Export Policy Manual and submit & track export license applications through the export process
    • Ensure timely updates and responses to all customer, vendor, and sales team inquiries
    • Proactively support the domestic and international sales teams throughout the sales process
    • Communicate necessary information in timely and accurate manner to all parties, including Operations & Manufacturing, finance team, & sales team, in order to meet Company revenue commitments
    • Resolve sales order issues and/or escalate as needed to ensure prompt and accurate resolution
    • Recommend and implement improvements in order administration process and procedures
    • Any additional functions of supporting the sales team that may arise as the business evolves

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong ERP order entry experience is required (MAX system preferred)
    • Strong attention to detail is required
    • Ability to work both collaboratively with cross-functional teams and autonomously as a motivated self-starter
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Virtual Meeting applications required
    • Proficiency in ZOHO, Salesforce, or similar CRM is a plus

  • Marketing Specialist

    To maintain and accelerate its rapid growth, Headwall is seeking a Marketing Specialist to be located at its facility in Bolton, Massachusetts. The successful candidate will be a contributor to the Company's growth and will have responsibility for developing outbound campaigns that support our sales team and corporate communications. In addition, the successful candidate will assist in developing and implementing both online and in-person events.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Manage and further develop the pipeline of inbound sales leads through a variety of channels, including but not limited to: Headwall’s website, targeted e-mail, tradeshows and conferences, webinars, advertising, and social media
    • Create and manage a variety of outbound communications vehicles such as targeted e-mail, brochures and datasheets, application notes, tradeshow displays, webinars, advertising, blogs, and social media
    • Assist in managing Headwall’s fiscal-year marketing calendar in support of events aligned with the Company’s four main markets and across geographical regions
    • Utilize marketing metrics to help generate ROI analyses of marcom initiatives
    • Assist in managing editorial and analyst relationships that promote Headwall’s capabilities, value propositions, products, technologies, and customer success stories
    • Manage Headwall’s photo/video and reference publication libraries
    • Maintain a strong, ongoing internal communications process with Headwall’s employees, as well as global channel partners and customers
    • Assist in managing the Company’s CRM platform, Zoho CRM
    • Manage Headwall’s external website, www.headwallphotonics.com, using the HubSpot platform.
    • Manage pre-, during-, and post-show organizational activities involving Headwall’s tradeshow/event schedule (5-10 events annually).
    • Assist in distributing press releases communicating Headwall’s products and success stories (Meltwater platform)
    • Manage Headwall’s social media vehicles, including video-hosting platforms
    • Assist in the production of media, including photos and video at Headwall and other facilities
    • Occasionally travel to customer sites and industry trade conferences and expositions
    • Other tasks that require marketing skills as needed

    Skillsets:

    • Strong writing skills a must
    • Must be highly skilled using both Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) Familiarity and experience with the Zoho CRM or similar platform a must
    • Experience with Constant Contact or similar platform a must
    • Experience managing all aspects of tradeshow marketing and execution is a must
    • Experience with HubSpot a plus
    • iMovie, Camtasia, or other video-editing platform experience a plus
    • Ability to work on premises or from home as required

    Experience & Education:

    • Candidate must have 3+ years of relevant marketing experience within a high-tech environment
    • B.S. or B.A. degree desired
