Headwall is looking for a high-energy, experienced individual to drive growth throughout Asia/Pacific for our hyperspectral imaging products. The ideal candidate will be technically competent and have demonstrated success in selling advanced technology products through both direct and indirect channels throughout the region. Candidates must reside in the Asia/Pacific region with a priority for Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, or China. This role will report to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. A successful candidate will be highly collaborative, technically knowledgeable, and passionate about delivering impactful sales experiences to customers.

The Asia/Pacific Sales Manager is a high profile, key contributor to the achievement of company revenue goals across a broad set of industries and a diverse customer base. As a senior member of the commercial team, the individual is responsible for driving revenue directly from strategic accounts as well as channel partners across key market sectors and application areas for Headwall’s hyperspectral imaging solutions.

Sales management responsibilities include recruiting, training, and managing the international reseller network to grow revenue in support of Headwall’s primary markets:

  • Remote Sensing
  • Advanced Machine Vision
  • Medical & Biotech

The candidate will be expected to develop and execute territory plans and sales programs to drive partner success. This includes joint campaigns to existing customers, outbound activities to new prospects, planning & training with resellers, product demonstrations to customers, and general technical support necessary for Headwall, reseller and customer success.

Required:

  • Demonstrated and quantifiable track record of successful channel sales & partner management
  • Demonstrated ability to engage strategic accounts and opportunities on a direct basis
  • Experience with international reseller partners with focus on Asia Pacific region (China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, India, Australia)

Headwall is seeking a highly motivated and successful Regional Sales Manager, preferably based in California or Arizona, for our U.S. West territory.

Regional Sales Managers are high profile, key contributors to the achievement of company revenue goals across a broad set of industries and a diverse customer base. Specific account responsibilities include academic, bio-pharma, and industry accounts in the assigned geographical region.

As a member of the sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue across key markets and application areas for Headwall’s hyperspectral and spectral imaging solutions. Sales activities will focus on outbound face-to-face interaction with key prospects to qualify, cultivate and close new business.  Limited channel management where appropriate. 

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable and quantifiable track record of successful sales achievement

  • Ability to develop successful sales strategies to penetrate accounts

  • Exceptional sales qualification skills

  • Competitive, self-starter who enjoys working in a fast paced, technology growth environment

  • In-depth technical knowledge of spectroscopy (spectral sensors and analytical instruments) and/or imaging technologies

  • Outstanding telephone and interpersonal communication skills

  • Team player with a flexible and open communication style

  • Sales CRM experience necessary – Funnel management 100% in online tools

  • Expected travel 50%

 Education and Background:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced technical degree

  • Minimum of 5 years scientific sales experience

  • Location preference is within assigned territory and close proximity to major airport; focus on the US Northeast and Southeast

The Position:
The Opto-Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning and executing engineering tasks for the development and production of spectral imaging instruments and OEM components. This individual will be working closely with our small interdisciplinary team to translate ideas into high level design concepts and functional prototypes. The candidate must be a fast learner, strong problem solver, and exceptional communicator. They must have a proven ability to understand complex problems and requirements as described by customers, product managers, and scientific and engineering staff. Due to export restrictions, the candidate must be a US Citizen.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design parts and assemblies in SOLIDWORKS for state-of-the-art precision mechanical, optical, and opto-mechanical devices for static, airborne, and space-based applications.
  • Analyze and present modeling and test data. Discuss results with technical staff, external partners, and customers.
  • Contribute to project teams in the preparation of requirements, cost estimates and schedules.
  • Prepare for, and participate in, comprehensive design reviews.
  • Evaluate product performance at the component and system levels via both SOLIDWORKS modeling and hands-on experimental methods.
  • Help develop and execute component reliability and qualification tests, especially accelerated aging, high stress conditions, and test to failure.
  • Develop manufacturing and quality procedures and support the manufacturing team in pilot builds and troubleshooting during production.
  • Communicate detailed technical specifications with both domestic and overseas suppliers of materials, parts, and equipment.
  • Write engineering change orders on existing products to improve designs and correct problems.
  • Meet deadlines, sustain superior personal task management, and deliver consistent high performance.
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites for equipment installation and test.

Skillsets:

Required 

  • High proficiency in using SOLIDWORKS for mechanical design and documentation.
  • Proficiency with finite element method for stress analysis, modal analysis, and heat transfer analysis.
  • Competent with GD&T to achieve high precision results in the design process.
  • Able and efficient with modern documentation, presentation, and collaboration applications.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable and self-sufficient in building and testing physical assemblies and apparatus.

Desired

  • Ability to formally organize and manage technical development projects, i.e. creating work breakdown structures, schedules, and reports.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, machining methods, materials, and processes.
  • Proficiency in failure analysis methodology and design for cost/ reliability/ manufacturability.
  • Understanding of kinematic structures, high precision manufacturing, and dynamic assemblies.
  • Expertise in optics mounting techniques and optical systems.

Competencies:

  • Ability to work alone or with others, often with minimal direct supervision.

Desired Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering of industrial equipment.
  • Experience in opto-mechanical systems preferred.
  • Experience in execution of engineering documentation, from design reviews and requirements documents to failure analysis and risk mitigation.
  • Proven track record of successful designs that have transitioned to production.

Education:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.

Desired

  • Formal training in machining and/or other fabrication methods.
  • Formal training in CMM and/or other precision measurement instruments.
