The selected candidate for this position will join the software development team which is advancing the field of hyperspectral imaging by providing easy-to-use data collection, image processing, sensor fusion, and machine learning tools to our customers. This role will have responsibilities in new product development and sustaining of existing products. The candidate will be responsible for the specification, design, development, and documentation of code. Our codebase is written in C++ and an eligible candidate should be proficient in this language. Knowledge of the QT framework is a plus but can also be learned on the job. Knowledge of other machine vision toolkits and libraries (such as OpenCV) is also a plus.
Additionally, the candidate may be called upon to use their capabilities to support automated build process and testing.

These commercial instruments are designed for the Remote Sensing, Industrial, and Research markets. They are used primarily for the analysis and monitoring of agriculture, food, and other products. Additionally, the company participates in the development of airborne and space-based sensors for the monitoring of greenhouse gases and other environmental chemicals.
This role will have responsibilities for sustaining development of existing products and for new product development. The candidate will be responsible for the specification, design, development and documentation of complete optical systems. This individual should have strong proficiency in using Zemax for optical design and significant experience in opto-mechanical design issues. A thorough understanding of optical performance, tolerancing, athermalization, and sensitivity analysis is important. Experience designing tests and fixtures to verify optical components and systems is also important.

The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of in-depth and hands-on experience with optical systems development and applications deployment.
