Dennis Merrill Hired as Vice President to Lead Engineering Department
Bolton, Massachusetts – July 1, 2019 – Headwall Photonics, Inc., the industry leader in turnkey hyperspectral and multispectral imaging solutions and spectral instrumentation for a variety of market segments, announced that Dennis Merrill has joined the Headwall team as Vice President of Engineering. Dennis will be responsible for leading Headwall’s engineering department, including hardware, software, integrated systems, and research & development teams, and will report to Headwall CEO David Bannon as a member of the executive team.

Dennis arrives at Headwall with over 20 years of experience in the design, manufacture, and commercialization of spectroscopic tools for the industrial, medical, and scientific markets. He previously co-founded and served as the Chief Technology Officer of Galaxy Scientific, a company pioneering realtime FT-NIR spectroscopy for food and agriculture. Previously, Dennis held executive roles in engineering and product development for various instrument companies such as Thermo Fisher Scientific where he led the development of handheld and benchtop Raman and FT-IR instruments. Dennis has brought over 20 spectroscopic products to market.

Dennis received his degree in engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and his MBA at the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He will be based at Headwall’s headquarters in Bolton, Massachusetts.
