Product Lifecycle

All products have a lifecycle from the first sale to the last unit being switched off for the final time after years of use. Headwall categorizes our products in a way that allows us to offer an optimized level of manufacturing, sales activity, support, and service to our customers for the products that they own.

As products mature and their lifecycle changes, we will notify customers by e-mail when possible and post updates on our website. We also make every effort to keep a current list of products within each lifecycle category available.

Lifecycle Category Definitions

Current

These are products that are presently being manufactured, sold, and supported/serviced. Parts and accessories are readily available. There may be rolling changes in the form of product improvements or substitutions of components due to material availability by our vendors/suppliers.

Sunset

These are products that have been declared End-of-Manufacture (EOM). An official notice should be given in the form of an announcement to the internal Headwall team, sellers, and customers who might have a valid sales quotation in hand. If a replacement or suitably equivalent current product is available, they will also be informed. A limited number of products might be built in order to fulfill ‘final-buy’ or valid sales quote requirements. These products carry the standard Headwall warranty until the end of the warranty period. Parts should be allocated to remain in inventory to fulfill anticipated service needs for the next 5 years after the last complete product is shipped. Headwall will support and service these products for this time period or until parts are no longer available.

Legacy

These are products that are no longer manufactured, declared End-of-Life (EOL), not quoted by sellers, and only supported or serviced on a case-by-case basis. If a replacement or suitably equivalent current product is available, that product should be quoted by sellers or mentioned by support/service personnel. These products carry the standard Headwall warranty until the end of the warranty period.

IMPORTANT: Custom Products are exempt from these categories by their special nature. Headwall will make a best effort to support and service these products. But Headwall personnel should make customers aware of the special nature of their products.
